Biography:
Dr  Lourens Millard is a 33-year-old, hard-working individual with a passion for sports. Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of sports, he pursued studies in sports science and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Human Movement Science department at the University of Zululand. Dr Millard is well-educated, holding five degrees, including a PhD in Human Movement Science. Over the years, he has been actively involved in multiple research projects, which include supervising postgraduate students, completing his PhD study, mentoring PhD candidates, and collaborating with colleagues at other universities to publish scholarly articles.

Research interests: 
Dr Lourens Millard’s research focuses on perceptual motor development and the role of vision in enhancing high-performance sports. He has developed a visuo-spatial intelligence testing battery applicable to various hand-eye coordination sports and is currently evaluating its efficacy. Additionally, he has acquired an eye tracker to study the gaze behavior of high-performance athletes.
