Biography:

Miss Sifundile Z. Maphumulo is a Lecturer in the Department of Human Movement Science at the University of Zululand. She has published an article in the South Florida Journal of Development and will register for her PhD in 2025 at the University of Zululand. Over the past three years, she has been teaching undergraduate students at both the Richards Bay and KwaDlangezwa campuses, actively contributing to the academic and research community. Miss Maphumulo was awarded the Dean’s Excellence Award as the top achiever at the Honours level, highlighting her academic dedication and excellence.

She lectures on modules such as:

Qualifications: Master of Science in Human Movement Science, with a thesis titled: Chronic Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Risk Factor Profiling of Black African Community Dwellers of KwaDlangezwa in KwaZulu-Natal. II. Honours Degree in Biokinetics. III. Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Human Movement Science.

Research interests: 
Her research focuses on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), their risk factors, and health promotion. Her work includes blood parameter assessments and fitness profiling to enhance the understanding of chronic disease prevalence and management.

Professional membership:

Miss Maphumulo is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Biokinetics student (Registration Number: BKS0045080), adhering to the council’s regulations for professional practice.
