Biography:

Mr Sanjeev Kumar Naras is a Lecturer in Department Access Science and graduate in Chemistry from the University of Durban-Westville now known as the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. It might seem a bit cliché but he chose to be an educator because he want to make a difference and at the time the opportunity had arisen to be part of this glorious profession. There could be many fields that he could accomplish this goal but he felt that education is the one in which he can have the biggest influence. He feel that being an educator he would have a platform to dispel fallacies such as learners being told that they are not good enough.

Lecture’s the following modules: 

The teaching of chemistry to Foundation students not only equips them with basic science knowledge but also reaffirms the knowledge they already possess. Foundation chemistry is one of the core modules in the Science Foundation Programme in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture at the University of Zululand. Unfortunately, students who enroll for the Science Foundation Programme are from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Research interests: 

He believe that educators should continuously seek to deepen their knowledge. If we do not embrace the new research, techniques and technology that have come to our disposal then we will remain stagnant without any improvement. Although still a novice my research interests lie in the field of chemistry in particular chromatography, science education and chemistry education
