He has successfully supervised/ co-supervised seven MSc and one PhD students. He is currently supervising/ co-supervising eight postgraduate (Honours, MSc and PhD) students.

2003 – 29/02/2024 (Senior Laboratory Assistant in the Biochemistry and Microbiology Department, UNIZULU)

2024 to date (Lecturer in the field of Microbiology, UNIZULU)

Lecture ‘s the following modules:
‘Epidemiology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases’
‘Environmental Influences on Microorganisms and Principles of Industrial Microbiology’

Qualifications:

BSc (Biochemistry and Microbiology), BSc (Hons.) (Microbiology), MSc (Microbiology), PhD (Microbiology)- University of Zululand

Research interests:

Screening for potential bioflocculant -producing microorganisms for bioflocculant production as a substitute to the in-use chemical flocculants for wastewater purification and dye removal. Chemical flocculants have been reported to have health issues and are non-biodegradable compared to bioflocculants from natural sources (i.e. microorganisms, plants, plant extracts, etc..), therefore their replacement with naturally occurring flocculants is of highly interest in wastewater treatment industries. His research interests also include using a bioflocculant to biosynthesize nanoparticles for wastewater purification and dye removal from dye solutions.
