- ‘Prokaryote structure and Environmental Microbiology’; and
- ‘Environmental Influences on Microorganisms and Principles of Industrial Microbiology’
Research interests:
Prof Madoroba research focuses on understanding the challenge of antimicrobial resistance among bacterial pathogens using classical microbiological methods and molecular techniques. Furthermore, research involves bioprospecting for potential novel antimicrobial agents that are produced by microorganisms such as Actinomycetes for potential application in diverse industries. In addition, she makes use of beneficial lactic acid bacteria to upgrade the status of African indigenous foods and beverages.
She has completed research projects on prevalence, characterization and antimicrobial resistance of diverse foodborne pathogens including but not limited to Salmonella species, Staphylococcus aureus, Shiga toxin Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Yersinia enterocolitica, Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens and Campylobacter species.
