Biography:

Prof Nontuthuko Ntuli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Botany at University of Zululand 

Lecture ‘s  the following modules:

  • Introduction to Plant Cytology, Genetics and Physiology (4BOT111),
  • Genetics and Plant Biochemistry (4BOT311)
  • Ethnobotany (4BOT507).

Qualifications:
 BScHons, MSc, PhD (UNIZULU)

Research interests: 

Dr Ntuli ‘s research focus is on diversity studies and morpho-agronomic improvement of traditional leafy vegetables and indigenous trees that produce edible fruits. This also includes studies on water use efficiency of these drought tolerant plants. Diversity studies focuses on morphological, phenological and genetic variation among genotypes and landraces of the selected plants. Studies on improving growth and yield of these incorporates the application of organic and inorganic manures and well as treating the plants with ploidy-inducing agents such as colchicine.
