Biography:

Oluwafemi Oni earned his Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria, in 2013. He further pursued his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in 2017 and 2021 respectively at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.
Prior to his academic pursuits, Oni served as a system and maintenance engineer at Egbin Power Thermal Plant, Lagos, Nigeria, in 2012, and later at Omotosho Power Plant, Ore, Nigeria, from 2013 to 2014.
His research portfolio encompasses various areas within electrical engineering, including power systems stability analysis employing High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission schemes, the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid through multi-terminal HVDC configurations, and the exploration of smart grid systems leveraging Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTs) technologies.

  • MSc In Electrical Engineering (UKZN)
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering (UKZN)
