Biography:

Prof Vetrimurugan Elumalai is a full Professor at the Department of Hydrology, University of Zululand, South Africa. He is also working as a guest Professor at Chang’an University China since 2020.

His experiences are on Environmental hydrogeochemistry,  Groundwater environmental  pollution due to natural and human activities
and  Groundwater modelling

Research interests: 

 He is a C2 rated researcher by the National Foundation of South Africa (NRF). His research focuses in the field of hydrological and hydrogeological studies including water quality assessment, groundwater and surface water contamination, monitoring and management, groundwater modelling and environmental geochemistry. He has more than 12 years’ of experience in the field of Hydrogeology. He has published more than 30 articles published in highly reputed journals. He is a registered scientist of South African Council of Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP). He serves as an editorial board member in Discover Water published by Springer Nature. Though he have broad scopes of research activities, currently, he is working dynamically on the groundwater and surface water quality related studies and sediment geochemistry in African coastal areas.
