Biography:
Dr Samson Mohomane is a lecturer in the department of chemistry specializing in physical chemistry from level one to honours level, supervise and co-supervise students at both masters and phd level respectively in project related to physical and organic chemistry. He has been in teaching field for over 15 years having started as a high school teacher before lecturing at the University of Free State. Mohomane joined the University of Zululand in 2016 as a part-time lecture before I was appointed as a senior lecture in Physical chemistry in 2021.

Research interests:
Dr Samson Mohomane is an organic chemist with an interest in polymer chemistry, specifically cellulose chemistry and biodegradable polymers. He is also into waste management chemistry with an interest in green building materials by using various biomass sources. The main aim is to turn them into value added materials. His also worked on water purification projects by utilizing cellulosic materials. The other interest is in combining organic molecules with nanomaterials for enhanced pollutants remov
