Biography:
Tshwafo E Motaung is Professor interested focusing on organic polymer chemistry. He is working in multidisciplinary projects including extraction of cellulose from natural fibres and synthesis of biopolymers. He is currently focusing on biomass based cellulose such as cost-effective development of biodegradable sugar cane bagasse cellulose, alkali treatment extraction of cellulose from maize stalk residues and some of industrially impactful project including the effect of silane treated sugar cane bagasse on mechanical, thermal and crystallization studies of recycled polypropylene. He also has collaborations nationally and internationally with the researchers in the field of phosphor materials fabrication and characterization for the purpose of cheaper light emitting materials.
