Biography:

 Mr Charles Thulani Thethwayo is a lecturer at the Physics department at the University of Zululand and has a MSc degree in Physics (material science) from the university of Zululand. His research interests are in hydrogen storage multilayer thin film systems and gas sensing application using semiconduction metal oxides. He is currently working on his PhD which focuses on multilayer system Pd/Ti/Zr/Pd/cp-Ti for possible hydrogen storage.

• Solid state physics and Materials (4PHY322)
• Solid state physics (4PHY504) 

Qualifications:
MSc Physics (UNIZULU), Hons Physics (UNIZULU) and BSc Physics (UNIZULU)

Research interests:

• Synthesis and characterisation of metal oxide for possible gas sensing applications and
• Fabrication of Multilayer thin film for possible hydrogen storage applications
