KZN Habitable Community School Project, UNIZULU Branch

Applied Centre for Climate and Earth System Science mini- Habitable Planet Workshop held at CSIR Campus, Rosebank, Capetown  from the 12-16 January 2014 run by CSIR was the birth of Habitable Planeteers  Community projects. This project has a main goal of make south Africa more habitable with the changing climate and to encourage young people to get more involved in Science in other to meet the DHE “National goal of transforming the economy to more PhD. Currently 25 pupils at Ongoye high School are currently being committed to a science club with mini-science projects that will be carried out in thier school supervised by Planeteers from Unizulu. Supplementary Classes are also held on Saturdays at Unizulu to assist them with their science subjects. The first phase will end in July with a mini-symposium and prices giving with Planeteers nationwide.
