The Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering (FSAE) Student Council recently held a seminar titled “Fostering Entrepreneurial Success Through Innovation and Financial Literacy”.

FSAE student council brought together industry experts from ABSA, EDHE, and brilliant minds from our university’s staff complement to unpack the secrets of building a thriving business.

Miss Devisi Naiker, Private Banker at ABSA, dropped financial truth bombs that left everyone rethinking their savings! 💸 She broke down:

✔ The Hidden Cost of Saving – How money loses value over time if not invested wisely.

Jason Pika, secretary of Start-Ups A EDHE entrepreneurship society based at UNIZULU, fired up the room with real talk on entrepreneurial success at the University of Zululand! His key takeaways:

Fikile Sinefu from Research Office, touched on important policies available to guide and protect students conducting entrepreneurial/research activities on campus and support available from Research Office, particularly funding and competitions available. He enlightened students on Intellectual Property Rights, Patents, copyrights and trademarks under the University of Zululand

Ms Hloniphile Mbatha the University Psychologist – emphasised the importance of investing on soft skills for students such as time Management and communication when in business.
