Biography:
Mr Mpilo Shange is the Lecturer at Nursing Department in the Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering at the University of Zululand. He is also a PhD candidate at the University of Zululand. Shange is a clinical specialist who has served in various healthcare settings, including the Department of Health, the private sector and Correctional Services. As a lecturer, he brings a wealth of practical and academic experience and is also involved in supervising students at the master’s level.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree and a BCur in nursing science (UNIZULU), Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education, Diploma in Health Assessment, Treatment, and Care (UKZN)
Research interests:
Shange research interests lie in Midwifery Nursing Science, Primary Health Care, and Community Health. This focus is evidenced by her master’s research on the experiences of pregnant women using traditional medicine in KwaZulu-Natal, which aligns closely with the academic and community-focused initiatives at the institution. His involvement in research, presentations at academic conferences, and active participation in professional organizations underscore her commitment to advancing the field of nursing through both practice and scholarly contributions.
