Past projects

He was actively involved in the community engagement project in North West University (NWU), which was in a form of collaboration with Special Programmes of the Department of Education to mitigate current social in schools. Other stakeholders were Department of Social Development, South African Police Services (SAPS), South African Ministry Fraternal (SAMIFRA), Community Policing Forum (CPF), Commission for Gender Equity (CGE) and Family and Marriage Society of South Africa (FAMSA).   Community engagement activities were used as vehicles to reach different schools in the north west province to empower learners with relevant knowledge and skills about bullying.

The anti-bullying public health awareness campaign was coupled with Boys manhood dialogue, as we believe that boys are the main perpetrators of the identified social ill. The project targeted all schools identified by the Department of Education in the entire province. It was an ongoing project; regarding monitoring, we paid a support visit and requested the school to write us a report. The project was registered in the University database. He was a member of the Ubuntu community project for nursing research.  It is a 5-year project, which is a 5-year progressive and renewable research project awarded to Prof Mavis Mulaudzi as the South African Research Chair in the Ubuntu Community Model of Nursing hosted by the University of Pretoria.  The stakeholders include the University of Pretoria, the University of Venda and North West University.  The project is a pioneering multidisciplinary initiative to empower nurses and members of the community to follow the principles of Ubuntu sponsored by the National Research Foundation. The aim of the project is to improve universal access to health, health care and health outcomes of people in remote, rural, and under-resourced communities by developing, piloting and implementing an Ubuntu-Innovation model, approach and principles for coproduction and convergence of indigenous and biomedical knowledge.
