Biography:

Mrs. Anne Suzanne Joubert is a lecturer in the field of Nursing Science at the University of Zululand at kwa-Dlangezwa campus.

She has M.Cur – Critical Care Nursing (University of Pretoria), B.Cur – General Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatry and Community Health) (University of Pretoria).

She has 3 years’ experience as a critical care nurse and has been part of a team doing clinical research for pharmaceutical companies for 6 years. She has experience of clinical research in the following fields: Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, Epilepsy and HIV.

She graduated in April 2007 having completed her Master’s degree titled: Cardiac surgery patients’ experiences of music therapy.

She is currently a registered PhD. student at the University  Zululand.

Career

She has had a varied career, commencing her training at Steve Biko Hospital. Worked as a critical care nurse in both government and private hospitals and worked as a medical representative for Zebra Medical. She coordinated clinical research alongside a group of specialists doing research in various diagnostic fields which included obtaining ethics approval from various private institutions in the country.

Mrs. A. Joubert commenced her academic career in 2015 at the University of Zululand teaching General Nursing, Pharmacology and recently Psychiatric Nursing.

Lecture’s the following modules:

  • General Nursing Science, second year level
  • General Nursing Science, third year level
  • Pharmacology, third year level
  • Psychiatric Nursing, fourth year level

Qualifications:
M.Cur – Critical Care Nursing (University of Pretoria), B.Cur – General Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatry and Community Health (University of Pretoria)

Teaching And Learning:
Uses various innovative teaching methods including Moodle and Coggle which not only empowers students to improve their computer literacy but with the use of Coggle students are able get a visual map of the pathophysiology of the diseases as well as how the nursing interventions relates to the pathophysiology.
